Founded in 2014, we commenced underwriting operations in 2015. Since then, we have established ourselves as a strategic capital allocator and expert risk selector in specialty insurance and reinsurance.

Our Journey

Founding

2014

Fidelis Insurance Holdings is founded in Bermuda with the vision of building a world-class specialty insurer.

Commenced Underwriting

2015

Fidelis Insurance Holdings begins underwriting led by an experienced team of insurance professionals including CEO Daniel Burrows and Richard Brindle.

Expansion

2017

Expansion of London operations. Significant growth in specialty lines including property and marine.

European Growth

2018

Launch of Ireland operations, establishing a significant European presence and expanding capabilities to serve clients across the EU.

Landmark Year

2023

Fidelis separates to create two companies: Fidelis Insurance Group (NYSE: FIHL), which begins trading as a public company later in the year, and The Fidelis Partnership (TFP), which is established as Fidelis Insurance Group’s strategic underwriting partner.

Underwriting Network Expansion

2025

Onboarded first strategic underwriting partners beyond TFP, further diversifying our portfolio and supporting our strategy to deploy capital to the most attractive risks.

Rebranding

2026

Rebranded to Pelagos Insurance Capital (NYSE: PLGO), reflecting our positioning as a strategic capital allocator working alongside best-in-class underwriting partners.

Present Day

Today

An expert capital allocator and risk selector in specialty insurance and reinsurance with over 100 products and strong financial ratings. Headquartered in Bermuda with offices in London and Dublin.
